Wildwood is the newest city in the St. Louis Metropolitan area recently incorporated in 1995. In terms of its geographic size, it is the third largest city in the State of Missouri, with Kansas City and Springfield being larger. In a commitment to its residents, Wildwood continues its tradition of "Planning Tomorrow Today".
Wildwood has lots of country charm with its wooded lots of rolling hills, natural beauty and wide open spaces. It is one of the more rural communities in the St. Louis County Area with one-fourth of the amount of residents per square mile versus those of St. Louis County.
Crime is nearly non existent in Wildwood and includes some of the best school systems in St Louis County. With Wildwood being an upscale community, one should expect home prices to reflect that starting in the high $100,000.00 range.
Greensfelder County Park, lying at the foot of the Ozark mountain range, features horse boarding, equestrian and group camping, hayrides, shaded trails, nature learning center, picnic sites and shelters, playground and trim orienteering course, and spectacular views.
Rockwoods Reservation is predominantly a forest area offering 1,843 acres of hiking and nature trails. The reservation features wildlife and a Conservation Education Center.
While still under the development phase, Wildwood maintains a balance with the environment, residents and business that the residents try to preserve. Today, new bike trails are being added along Highway 100.
Wildwood offers three parks including Babler State Park, Greensfelder Park and Rockwoods Reservation and Range for those who enjoy the great outdoors.
The Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park features many opportunities for a family adventure. Here, you can go hiking, play softball or volleyball, swim in the Olympic-sized pool, ride on a guided horseback trail, cook on an open grill, dine in a dining hall, or camp in a cabin.
If you want a peaceful country life close to the city of St Louis, Wildwood is for you!
